A bit Disappointing
This new version is obviously breathtaking graphics wise, but disapointing when I wanted to run Famous cities like London.

Lousy Adshare Service!
i have always loved this game thats why i ordered it on Adshare. First they sent me the software with no registration number, i complained and i received excellent service from the CS representative and said he would send me another one in 2days. the replacement came in and guess what, it was the same freakin thing! still no registration number! i returned it and got my money back sans shipping and delivery..

Greatest Game Ever
This has to be the greatest game I've ever played. I've had it for almost five years, and I still play it. Unlike most games, it doesn't get boring after you've played it a lot. I love it, and I'd definitely recommend it.

Also, ignore negative comments about lack of autosave and crashing. If your computer is up-to-date and powerful enough, you will have no problem. If not, turn down the graphics settings and just save a lot. I used this game on an incredibly terrible computer for years without ever hating it.

Outstanding Version of Sim City
I am a Psychologist and am keenly aware of how video games feel to play them. Sim City is so realistic that I have learned an enormous amount about how a real city would be run. I have built 6 cities so far and in each of them, I started from a different point based on what I had learned from the former city.

The grapics is beyond incredible. I can zoom in and watch the horses, llamas, deer and other forest animals walking through the maples, oaks, firs and blue spruce or zoom in on the city streets and see Sims walking about, exercising, playing with dogs, swiming in their pools, jogging, bicycling, driving dozens of different kinds of vehicles, etc. The buildings are amazing to the finest details and sparks from arc welders shoot out of the steel girders as a new highrise building is constructed in a particular zone. Trains run down the tracks and busses and subways add realism to the rapid transportation that makes the city grow.

There are many rules and advanced tactics that a "mayor" must learn to keep polution down, provide ongoing upkeep of government expenses, beautification of the city, effective transportation, proper and adequate zoning and much, much more. The instruction book is very well done and made it possible for me to understand my role as mayor and how to manage growth so as to keep Sims happy and still keep money in the coffers.

I have played simpler versions of Sim City in the last 1990s. Sim City 4 is gorgeous, realistic and challenging when you allow disasters of one kind or another to take place in your city.

I rate this game 5+ stars. I am 62 years old and my older brother, age 72, loves it just as much. This is a game for all ages and it instructs the player in the fundamentals of practical municipal management.

Just need more Simcities, not weird off-shoots
I really like the game, though there needs to be a real sequel. Also need to ditch the squares. They can be used as guidelines, but being able to draw property lines would make it more interesting. Just an idea. I will continue to like this game, but Maxis should get the title back and make a better scalable involvement one for those of us who wouldn't mind micromanaging, but keeping the bigger picture for those who just like watching cities grow.
